There are a lot of stats in this article but here are a couple that I find the most interesting.
- By 2010 over 40 percent of all households will be comprised of an age group over 55 years.
- The number of citizens over the age of 65 years will jump from 34.7 million in 2000 to nearly 70 million by 2030 (a mere 30 years).
I have spoken to enough retirees to hear about their avoidance of stairs. The demand will grow and areas like King City will finally start to appreciate like the rest of the market. One caveat is that the aging population may have limited funds as the older generation were not in jobs that had good pensions.
